CALLS FOR WORK are open to all photographers internationally. All processes and techniques are welcomed. Color work will be reproduced in black & white. Please follow guidelines closely.

ALL ENTRIES:

Send up to 12 images. No entry form is required, but please enclose a letter (or word document if submitting online) that includes your name, address, email, titles/captions, website, and any other information pertinent to your submittal.

TO SUBMIT FILES ONLINE:

SHOTS only accepts files submitted online using yousendit.com. You may send up to 50mb at a time using their free account. Please use shots@shotsmag.com as the recipient address, and include your name in the subject header and in all files. Prepare your files per the specifications* and create and send a single compressed file (zip, rar, or sit). If your file size exceeds 50mb, it is okay to send two compressed files. File size is likely to be somewhat large—a high-speed internet connection is recommended. If you are not a current subscriber, please make your payment directly before or after sending your files. (Note: SHOTS does not review work on websites, and does not accept emailed files.)

TO SUBMIT FILES ON A CD:

Save files to a CD that is Windows/PC compatible. Please include a separate folder of low-resolution jpegs, or a printout of the images you’re submitting. See file specifications below.*

TO SUBMIT PRINTS:

Send original prints, 8x10 or smaller, to the address above.

* FILE SPECIFICATIONS (for both CD and Online Submissions):

300 PPI JPEG files, sized to approximately 12” in the longest direction and saved to the highest quality possible. Please include your name and the title of the image in each file name (for example: First_Last_Title.jpg).

SUBMISSION FEES (for up to 12 images):

$16 for non-subscribers (include check with submission, or click here to pay online using PayPal)**

SHOTS is an independent publication that relies on the support and contributions of its readers. Thank you for your support!

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

If submitting work by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) if you wish have your submission returned to you. All images may be kept on file for possible use in a future issue if not chosen for the issue they are submitted to—please indicate if you prefer otherwise.

As a way to promote the photographers presented in the pages of SHOTS, and to encourage dialogue between contributors, locations (city/state/country), e-mail addresses and website URL’s are typically printed. If you wish to have any or all of this information withheld, please indicate so. Also, photographs selected for SHOTS may be presented on the SHOTS website. If you do not wish to have your work shown on this site, please indicate so.

Although reasonable care will be exercised in the handling of photographs submitted for review, SHOTS is not held responsible for loss or any damage of submitted materials.

NOTIFICATION: Since all photographers submitting work per the guidelines will receive a copy of the magazine (and will thus see whether or not their work was included), letters of notification are not sent.

** Non-subscribers who choose to pay the Submission Fee will be sent one complimentary copy of the issue they submit work to.
